Structured AI in people operations

Resume parsing and candidate scoring are the easy parts. The durable value is in how those signals flow into onboarding, retention, and capacity planning.

People operations has been promised AI help for years. Most of what shipped was a chatbot layered on top of an applicant tracking system, useful in moments, absent from the parts of the job that matter.

Structured AI in HR looks different. It extracts consistent fields from an inconsistent input. It routes profiles to reviewers with context, not just a percentage. It traces the path of a candidate through a hiring pipeline as a first-class record.

The shift is from assistant to operating layer. An operating layer feeds onboarding automatically. It notices when a role has sat open too long. It closes the loop between the hiring plan and what actually shipped.

Done well, the HR function moves from reactive to structural. Done poorly, it adds a review step.
